Kinds of Gifts
You can make a difference in the lives of women and families in need in our community.
You can make a gift to the YW or designate it to any of our programs or services.
Club 84 Memberships
Club 84, established in 1980, is a giving circle of about 300 women and men who give at one of four giving levels every year:
- Club 84 ($84+).
- 84 and More ($184+).
- Four 84 ($484+).
- Mary Kaufman Circle ($840+).
Historically, Club 84 donations were made in support of the YW's 66-bed emergency shelter for women and families experiencing homelessness. The club took its name, in fact, from the shelter's 84 Frederick Street address.
Today, Club 84 donations are made in support of all YW programs.
In 35 years, more than 835 past and current members of Club 84 have raised nearly $2 million in endowed and operating funds for YW programs, and the endowment fund has generated more than $850,000 in dispersed interest income.
On the 15th of each month, we will withdraw an amount you specify from your VISA or MasterCard.
Gifts in Honour or Memory of Someone
When you make a gift to the YW in someone’s name, we will send cards to those you have honoured or the families of those you have remembered.
Bequests or Planned Gifts
A planned gift (most commonly, a bequest in your will) is a way for even a person of modest means to make a substantial gift to the YW. For more information about planned gifts, please see your financial advisor.
The YW’s legal name is K-W Young Women’s Christian Association. Please see our Bequest Language document for examples of how to word your bequest.
If you have made a gift in your will to the YW or intend to do so, we would like to recognize you as a member of our Once and Future Circle.
